Some of My Favourite Wedding Venues

2014 was a fantastic year with 92 beautiful weddings. Over the last 7 years my wedding work has grown and grown. Here's a few highlights from the last couple of year's of wedding photography, and some of my favourite venues, across Hampshire, Dorset, Surrey and the south UK.

The Pavilion, The Kings Arms Hotel Wedding

One of my favourite weddings of 2014. The beautiful Pavilion lends itself to a vintage look, and the autumn light added a beautiful glow to my images this day.

East Horton Golf Club Wedding

Another of my all time favourites and another beautiful vintage themed wedding. Behind it's modern frontage hides a beautiful little pavilion and a stunning golf course, complete with bluebell woods, a little lake, log cabin and trickling brook.

Edes House Wedding

There are a few registry offices which stand out and this is one - stunning architecture, beautiful decor and light inside, and a fantastic backdrop to another 'yep you guessed it' vintage themed wedding (my favourites!). This one was made extra special with a field of wild flowers found near the reception venue.

Alton Registry Office Wedding

Another little gem is the registry office at Alton, simple and tiny, but home to a beautiful ceremony room and a lovely little space outside for some photos.

Norton Park Hotel Wedding

Norton Park is another of those very modern venues with some hidden gems. The beautiful thatched barn at the back of the hotel gives ceremonies a true barn feel, whilst the small log shed tucked away at the front of the hotel makes a fab backdrop for both 'couple' and group shots.

Mellow Farm Barn Wedding

Mellow Farm Barn is literally that .. 'a barn' .. for the most part of the week. However when it's transformed in to a wedding venue it comes to life! It's the perfect little spot for a summer's day wedding.

Old Thorns Manor Hotel Wedding

I can't go any further without mentioning the fantastic Old Thorns - this is where you'll find me the most each season! And boy do I love this venue! The staff are fantastic, fantastically organised and perfect at making every bride and groom's day special. The venue itself is beautiful, inside and out, and the view from the 5th hole is spectacular - always worth the buggy ride, whatever the weather!

Rownham's House Wedding

I've only done one wedding at Rownham's House, but hope to get back there for more in 2015/16 - it's stunning! The ceremony room is classically beautiful, and only shadowed by the gorgeous private gardens at the rear - with a beautiful clock tower, small lake and mini meadow area I was spoilt for choice with backdrops.

Rhinefield House Hotel Wedding

When it comes to perfectly manicured gardens I have to mention Rhinefield House. I've done two weddings here, and have more booked for 2015. Rhinefield is a fantastic stately venue, with a classically grand interior, ornamental pond, and it's very own maze!

Stansted House Wedding

If you're a fan of Downton Abbey, and beautiful classic venues, then you'll also love Stansted House. I'm very much looking forward to more weddings at this lovely venue next year - the images speak for themselves on this one..

Spitbank Fort Wedding

If you're looking for something very unique, immersed in luxury, adventure and ... sea! .. then Spitbank will be your cup of tea! I'm so excited to be going back here in January for another wedding.

Port Lympne Zoo Wedding

Equally unique is Port Lympne Zoo in Kent. Although it's a little outside my normal working area, I've travelled here twice now for weddings, and would gladly make the journey again. The house itself is beautiful, and perfectly twinned with the landscaped exterior - fantastic views galore! However, it doesn't end there - the Zoo offers the wedding party its very own safari trip around the park!

Winkworth Farm Wedding

Another venue which I've been to twice, and which is slightly out of my normal patch, but well worth the trip! On my last visit I was lucky enough to be there in 'sunflower' season! What a fantastic backdrop for photos!

The Rectory Hotel Wedding

Just down the road is The Rectory Hotel, luxurious, quirky and beautiful inside and out. The ceremony room is light and airy, the reception room is homely and comforting, whilst the gardens are a dream to photography..

Eastclose Country House Hotel Wedding

A little closer to home is this little gem of a boutique hotel. The interior design is luxurious and elegant, while the outside space brings the gloriously rugged New Forest landscape right up to the door - both scenes are blended eloquently.

Bartholomew Barn Wedding

One of two weddings to get me a front page on Hampshire and Dorset Wedding Magazine. This is a fantastic venue.. a beautiful barn, surrounded by rolling Surrey meadows.

Wimborne Minster and Upton House Wedding

Rain didn't stop play on this fantastic day in Dorset. Wimborne Minster church is hugely impressive - dominating the surrounding landscape and town centre. Upton House is every bit the country mansion inside and out, and even on a rainy day offers plenty of sheltered backdrops for photos.

Rookesbury Park Wedding

Rookesbury Park is another lovely venue with a mansion house look, a long rolling drive, grand frontage and beautiful outlook across the surrounding Hampshire countryside. During term-time it is a school, and inside I felt a little like I'd stepped in to a scene from Harry Potter. It's a lovely venue, and I hope to get back there for another wedding soon.

Cowdray Walled Garden Wedding

Another wedding venue that looks like a film set is Cowdray Walled Garden. With the ruins outside and the secret garden feel to the venue inside, it's a very special and magical place.

Fulham Palace Wedding

When it comes to special and regal, you can't beat Fulham Palace for a wedding, especially in the winter - when the open fires and russet leaves give it an air of magic and magestry.

Chaffeymoor Grange Wedding

Although a little outside my normal area, I would love to do another wedding at Chaffeymoor Grange. The house itself is homely and welcoming, while the grounds give the perfect backdrops to some lovely summery photos, and I mustn't forget the small fishing lake at the bottom of the estate - complete with it's own rowing boat!

Horsebridge Station Wedding

This venue caught me by surprise as I didn't know anything like it existed in my local area. It's such a special and unique place - a converted railway station, complete with train carriages, tracks, and an inspectors junction hut. It's the perfect spot for a vintage tea-party wedding.

Lains Barn Wedding

Lains Barn is another venue that lends itself to a vintage look. The barn itself is beautiful and gives the perfect backdrop to photos and a summer's evening party.

Loseley Park Wedding

Twice now I've stood in Elizabeth I's bedroom, leaning out the window to take photos of the wedding guests below. It's magical and regal and the perfect setting for an English country wedding. The ceremony room is stunning, the gardens host a thousand backdrops for photos, and the reception venue, which is just a hop away gives a fresh and barn'esque setting for the evening.

Lillibrooke Manor Wedding

This was a very fun and creative wedding, complete with dinosaurs! (Don't worry I photoshoped him in).  The venue itself had two barns, a cute courtyard garden and the little manor house, which we used as a backdrop to our group shots.

Milton Barns Wedding

Another really fun day, complete with some cheeky dj monkeys. The barn itself had two levels, which worked perfectly for my photobooth! The conservatory made a great space for the meal and dancing, and the outside space (furnished with some hay bales and an ice-cream bike) gave a fun and creative space for photos.

Orleans House Gallery Wedding

Tucked away near Richmond-upon-Thames, Orleans House Gallery is a beautiful little ceremony venue.

Upper Parsonage Farm Wedding

I've done two weddings at this fab little local barn. The barn is airy and spacious, while the gypsy caravan that lives outside gives the finishing touches to any vintage themed weddings. Hoping to get back here soon for some more beautiful weddings.

Groomes Country House Wedding

The last time I was here was on a stormy spring day. The extreme weather gave the scenery an air of Wuthering Heights. Perched above the local countryside there's a fantastic view from the side of the property. The house itself is cosy and welcoming, while a sturdy marquee and outside bar gave plenty of space for the guests.

Elvetham Hotel Wedding

A little further north, but with an equally dramatic landscape surrounding it is Elevetham Hotel. The building is grand and beautiful inside, with stunning landscaped gardens surrounding it.

The Old House Inn Wedding

This little country pub made a lovely home to a summer's reception. It was homely yet spacious. I've seen some lovely receptions in country pubs (especially the ones with open fires - cosy cosy!).

Elmers Court Wedding

Another fantastic Dorset venue. This lovely hotel comes with it's very own sea view.

Southsea Weddings

Southsea, Portsmouth is my home, and I've had some lovely weddings around Old Portsmouth and Southsea seafront. Hoping for some more local bookings over the next year.
